weekend and 30 weeks

Silly String!

Another busy tiring weekend has come and gone. And I can tell you one thing I learned….. when you’re 30 weeks pregnant…… you SHOULD NOT play kickball. I’m SO sore! But it was certainly fun :-) Now I just suffer the consequences. Saturday we walked down to the Car/Motorcycle show, then to the park, then to the Ice Cream shop. The walking, playing and hot sun drained us all, which made for a nice nap for all :-) My son spotted silly string at the store so we picked some up last week and saved it for the weekend. As you can see – he had a blast. My husband’s daughter did not like it at all, so it turned into a Mom/Son war with silly string :P Sunday my son had a friend over and we bought more silly string and those two boys had war. I wanted to get more pictures but trying to get them to wait would be like trying to solve the world’s problems in 30 seconds.

I’m 30 weeks today…… 10 weeks left. Little guy had the hiccups the other night at about 2 am, which left me wide awake and feeling like crap. I do not like the feeling of hiccups. I think I’d rather have a foot in my rib. I have not been having the dizziness like I used to, it’s here and there, but not near as bad. It’s being replaced with extreme back pain. I’m used to having daily back pain because of scoliosis, but when pregnant that back pain is 10 times worse. It is finally time to get back to work on babies room. Our heating guy got the extension on the heat duct so now it’s time to get busy. And I was panicking somewhere around 25 weeks. Now I only have 10 weeks!

wanna come to supper?

Yes my fellow bloggers, that’s what we ate for supper last night. Bull Snake. Once I got past the thought it was SO good! My husband was driving from location yesterday and saw it on the road, so he stopped and (I’ll leave the “icky” part out for you animal lovers-even though you probably eat beef and/or pork……. and well that doesn’t magically appear in the grocery store) brought it home to skin and eat. I’ve never seen the inside of a snake – wow – it’s EMPTY! I half expected to see a mouse or something in there, but there was nothing. My son had a couple friends over so they got to watch also. I was a bit worried their mom might not be too happy, but she said she was glad they got to see it here because her and her husband wouldn’t be doing anything like that ever. The heating guy was over working on the heat duct in the babies room, he said he’s not tried snake (too freaked out), but his buddies have and they said it tastes like chicken. My husband thought it tasted more like pheasant. Whichever….. it’s good. My son tasted it and I think he just couldn’t quite get past the thought, because he chewed it for a while and then spit it out. We put Alpine Touch seasoning on it (as we do with everything, meat, potatoes, veggies :-) it’s the best) and he had to have been tasting that mainly. Anyway…. I get to add that to my list of foods I’ve tried.

out of my comfort zone

What a birthday present my husband got yesterday. I guess I got a present on his birthday too :P

I’m out of my comfort zone now though. Which has sent me into a total state of panic and shock. I don’t like diving into big things like this. I was comfortable with just the house payment. We planned on selling the truck, but quite obviously took a different route. I was hoping for NO car payments for a while to get through me not working for a bit after baby is born and getting everything caught up and running smooth again after going back to work. So this is a huge deal for me. It’s nice to have a more family friendly vehicle than the truck. The kids were just too squished in the back. I’ll be used to it soon and maybe the dollar signs will quit flashing in my eyes……. or the number 76 (the approximate number of days before baby is here).

The good stuff….. it’s amazing to drive. It’s loaded beyond loaded. And it’s always fun to have something new of course. (I’m personally fine with a new pen or something like that :-) )

runnin on E

What a night. I got a whole 2 hours of good sleep. I think the only good thing that came out of last night this morning was watching The Family Guy at like 3 am. It was hilarious and of course everything is ten times funnier when you’re overly tired. I’ve tried getting it to work so I could post the video in here, but lack of sleep isn’t helping my frustration. So just go here.

I missed Notes From the Underbelly last night. But I am catching it right now on ABC’s Full Episode Player. How great is this thing! Okay, I’ve finished watching. I still like this show. So the people are a little crazy, it was real life stuff last night. Worrying about money is definitely a big fear for me. I work full-time from home so when I got pregnant I thought oh this will work out perfectly. I can still work and have baby at home and things will be perfect and yada yada yada, no daycare, yada yada yada. And then reality hit…. you mean I have to work full-time AND take care of the baby full-time?! Oh boy……… I have a friend who works for the same company as me and she’s been doing it for about a year now with her baby and work. She recently just started going back into the office due to some changes so she now gets out of the house for a while. She’s loving it. She’s remembering what it’s like to be OUTSIDE of the home for a while and interact with adults and carry a conversation with an adult (a face-to-face conversation, not a conversation via phone, e-mail or MSN). I have no other choice but to continue working so I’m sure it’ll be all fine and I’ll make it work. I’m used to that – it’s my personality….. I might not like what life throws my way, but I’ll make it work.

And with a gigantic kick to the rib I’m off to work :-)
