only here…

… would your application for a job be written on a sticky note.

Last night I asked for an application at one of our grocery stores. There’s not many jobs to be had at night, unless I was to be a bartender and that’s not even an option. She said they were out of applications and she’d JUST given the last one away to someone she knows they won’t hire. So she gave me a sticky note and said to write my name and number on it along with when I could work and that would be my application. Wow. Okay. So I did and now I wait.

You see this daycare thing just isn’t my cup of tea. I LOVE kids, I really do, but this house is TOO small to have kids running around. I don’t have a fence so going outside is torture. Chasing a 13 month old, 18 month old and 22 month old is not so much fun when they all run in different directions. I’m really feeling like a quitter right now. I am going to try keeping the one little girl I have. I only have her three days a week and Grandma keeps her the other two. I love her to pieces and her family is awesome. She just kinda became part of our family. I told them I could only work nights as I don’t have daycare during the day. The lady I talked to said she does the same thing just for a different reason. So Daddy would get off work at 4:30 and I’d go to work at 5:00. He’d be able to stay with and kids I keep until 5:00 when their parents get here. I still won’t have daycare for baby so that will eliminate the need to worry about that problem.

Not only will this save my sanity from the kids and screaming all day in this little tiny house, but it’ll be good for me to be out a little bit. I’ve been at home for about 3 years now. I really do need to get out. Having no contact with co-workers really sucks. I miss my friends from work. I miss lunch hours and break time.

So I’ll keep you posted about what happens.

HUGS TO ALL!!

and… It’s my birthday today. :-) Happy Birthday to me!

home sweet home

It’s so great to be home. Eastern Montana never looked so good. We were a little over half way across the state. What would have been about a 6 hour drive took us about 9 hours. We stopped at parks, rest areas and gas stations so baby would have many breaks and not have to sit so long. It worked out nicely. He only had a few meltdowns where he was crying just wanting out of his seat. It was good for everybody to get out for a while, get some fresh air, stretch and have a snack.

The first night we just chilled at hubby’s parents house. I have met his parents and a couple other family members (aunt and cousins) but not the rest of the family. And wouldn’t you know, I got thrown into the mix and he got sent off to cook. Fabulous. I didn’t like that situation but oh well. I’m not a jump into the crowd kinda person. I don’t like crowds. And what did he cook… RIBS. YUCK! I stole some of baby’s supper that he didn’t eat that night. hehe

Day two… Went to a park on the river, fed some fish, played on some playground equipment and took pictures. Baby took a nasty fall on that playground equipment and has a lovely bruise on his little cheek from that. Did a little shopping after that and then back to the house for some BBQ. And more family to meet. UGGG… It’s always fun meeting more and more people huh. I’ll be lucky to remember half of them. It’s a pretty big family. We made a late night trip to Walmart too. That was loads of fun. We’ve not had the chance to drive 5 minutes and be at Walmart! That was crazy. We normally drive 45 minutes into another town, another state! :-)

Day three… Shopping day at the mall for a while. And then on to the Montana State Fair. Which was just another fair. Fun times. (Read: Sarcasm) The excitement… having my son stuck at the top of the ferris wheel after a cable snapped! Watching the guy climb the ferris wheel and not know what to do with the cable was interesting. He just looped it around something else and tied it the best he could, it’s a big thick cable, not exactly meant to be TIED!

Day four… HOME! Another drive. Went a little faster than the way there. Both boys slept a bit more so we didn’t have to stop as much. The one MAJOR meltdown from both boys luckily occurred about 1/2 hour out of a town so we only had to deal with that for about 30 minutes. Thank goodness. We got video of that one. Two boys screaming at the top of their lungs… so much fun.

I luckily, as you know already, was able to “borrow” someones wireless for the time away. I wouldn’t have survived without it. That’s why every motel we passed I was ready to check in. I wanted to stay in a motel anyway, but gave in to staying at the house. That was not easy. Baby doesn’t sleep well as it is, nor does he go to sleep with noise. So imagine being in a house with 19+ people and trying to get a baby to go to sleep. So not fun. We were definitely glad to be home to our comfy bed. My back feels oh so much better today. What an expensive gas bill too! GEESH! How the heck is anybody supposed to go anywhere?!

So that’s the parts of the trip I will tell on here. Sounds like tons o fun eh?! I have tons of laundry to do and a house to clean. It just needs cleaning it seems after being gone. I want a fresh house to come back to. So I’m out.

I was thinking about starting my cleanse when we got back, BUT… the fair is here also and I can’t miss the corn dogs, shaved ice and lemonade so it’s going to have to wait just a few more days.

HUGS TO ALL!!

someone’s watching out for me!

Look at me go! I have the Internet! Someone in the area is lending me (they just don’t know it) their wireless connection. Thank You!! I just need it for a few minutes here to let the world know I’m here.

The trip was okay. A trip that normally would take around 6 hours maybe, took us 8 1/2 hours. We stopped lots so baby could get out and play and run around. It worked out well. By the end I’m sure he was thinking… are you kidding me, I know you are all teasing me and you’re going to make me get back in soon. Jerks. Anyway, he traveled fairly well, better than expected. We only killed 3 birds on the way so that was yummy. Went through a grasshopper storm. Gross. Now I’ve just been chasing baby around like crazy. He loves to explore and climb and this is all new so he’s having quite the time.

We have many places we want to see so tomorrow hopefully we’ll get around town a bit. The fair is here so that’s going to be a blast for my oldest. I of course have spotted MANY places to take pictures so hopefully we’ll get some of that done too.

So that’s that for now. I can’t believe I’m connected. Seriously I’ll make it out of this trip alive now. :-) HUGS TO ALL!!

no Internet… for 4 days…

… You must be insane. See I just can’t do that. The words Motel and Wi-Fi are flashing in my head right now. So sorry I don’t feel like staying in a house with 20 some people running around like crazies for my vacation and to top it off NO INTERNET?! We have a problem. You see, when spending day after day with kids and noise the LAST thing you want to “get away” to is noise. Ear plugs. Packed. Duct Tape. Packed. Just in case ya know. A girl needs to be prepared. It’s 6 am and I’m ENJOYING the peace and quiet in this house right now. Everybody else is sleeping. I’m going to quietly finish and then pack some stuff. Maybe a bike ride before I go would be nice. Yesterday baby and I rode to the library. Sounds like a plan to me. HUGS TO ALL!

rashy baby

Ah poor little man has developed a rash. It’s weird the way it’s working right now. I spotted it last night and it was just a few red spots on his tummy and back. Last night before bed (during bath I guess) there were a few more that started showing. He wasn’t showing any signs of discomfort. It wasn’t hot in our house. He got his shots 10 days ago so I’m guessing (hoping) it has nothing to do with those. I would think that would have showed up sooner. So today there are WAY more spots, covering his tummy, back and starting down his arms and legs. Some are starting to cluster. Some have the red dot in the middle and the redness is spreading out from that. Talked to the nurse and she said to try Benadryl first so that’s what we are trying now. Just got the first dose a few minutes ago. So we’ll see what happens.

I was trying to think of anything out of the ordinary and Daddy came up with something… peanut butter m & m. I bought a bag the other day and the kid loves them (along with Mommy). But… maybe just maybe… could it be… peanut butter doesn’t like him, nuts don’t like him? Pluckymama?? You have experience.
