and how was your turkey day?

I started my Mom’s oven on fire. :-) Oops! I totally ruined the sweet potatoes, or at least the mashmallow topping. Sorry Dad! He still loves me. Other than that, it was pretty uneventful. Watched my Cowboys kick some Seahawk butt!!

on to step 2

Step one was the bottle and since it’s gone, I’ve been working on step two. Sleeping in the crib. It’s working during the day. Today I sat with him while he drank his cup of milk and then I said it was nap time and he had to lay in the crib. He let out a Momma cry and that was that. He laid down on his own, cuddled up with his blanket and was done. Yesterday didn’t go quite that well, but as I’m seeing… it’s getting better and better. Step three will be sleeping in the crib at night. It’s just hard to keep doing the same routine when I have to go to work. So that will come. I remember all the things I used to stress over, sleeping in the bathroom, sleeping with us, the bottle, the crib, etc. They are all coming together, one step at a time. So now if I could just become a millionaire on top of all this we’d be good to go! haha Okay, wishful thinking, I’ll just go back to working on the baby stuff now.

The other good thing about him going to sleep on his own is… remember how he used to take like 10 minute naps, if that sometimes? Well, his naps are now more around an hour. He’s so much happier when he wakes and ready to go again. And with that typed… he’s awake so I’m out.

it’s official

The bottle is gone! Soooooo happy. The only thing required now when going to sleep is a pillow. He’s gotta have his my pillow. That… I can handle! Now I’m only left sitting here wondering… WHY didn’t I do this sooner. But oh well, I was taking it one day at a time and that’s what worked, so no sense complaining.

My Christmas tree is decorated in purple this year, with a touch of silver. It’s gorgeous. I love it! I’ve been wanting to do purple for years now. Problem was… nobody else was doing purple this year. Where’s all the purple, blue, green and burgundy colored stuff!? Stores are all red and green this year. Apparently I don’t follow the fads very well and this year I’m going to be unique with my purple and silver tree. I searched the town for a purple bow and a purple skirt and there was none to be had. I found a friend who is making me a bow and I found a purple sheet in the junk aisle at the store which I bought for 5 bucks! So tonight, hopefully, my tree will be complete.

Baby copies me when I hang up the phone and say Bye, then he’ll say Bye. He says Ciao now too! I love it!! haha It’s so stickin’ cute!

NO more bottle!

Night 1… NO bottle!!! It was great. There was little whining a small crying session and many trips to the cupboard to show baby that the bottle man was there and took all the bottles and said he was a big boy now and didn’t need bottles. He was actually pretty okay with it. And this morning at about 5:30 am I found him laying under the Christmas tree kicking his legs. Please let this continue going well. I’m a little worried about day time when the kids are all here. He has a really hard time settling down because he knows they are all here. But…. that’s not until Tuesday so I have some time to get this under control.

could i be gone any longer

I’m pretty sure I’ve lost all my readers because I’ve been slacking on posting. I just haven’t had time. My last post was about my budget. It’s going amazing!! I couldn’t be happier with it. We have been able to save some money and that happened at what better time… Christmas time! WOOT!! I even have some interested girls at work wondering how I’m doing this and asking for help and tips. I love helping people so that makes me all warm and cozy inside. :-)

Christmas shopping is going very good! A huge thanks to Amazon and free shipping! haha I’m getting everything done from the comfort of my own home. How great is that! We decided on a kitchen for baby finally. What a decision, geesh, you would have thought I was trying to make a life or death decision. We got the Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen. And shipping on it was $4.97!! Holy buckets, I’m doing good this year! I can’t post anything about big brother because every once in a while he stops by here. Can’t blow the surprise.

We are out of bottle liners… that could only mean one thing. No. More. Bottle. Okay so that’s my plan anyway. I said when they are gone, they are gone. The bottles have liners in them, but that’s it. It could be a LONG few days here. Good thing I don’t have to work again until Tuesday. We shall see how this goes.

Baby was making his funny face today. He kept walking around with his bottom lip stuck way out and then he’d bust out laughing. What a silly boy.
